Author: Jude, brother of James. Believed by many to be a brother of Jesus. Bondservant of Jesus Christ.

Purpose: encourage and warn believers to be prepared to contend earnestly for the faith against ungodly evil deceivers.
Jude 1:1-2 – greeting, identify author, encourage the believers in mercy, love and peace, kept.
Jude 1:3-4 – why he is writing, to contend earnestly for faith, in preparation for confronting the ungodly teachers who are in the church
Jude 1:5-10 – reminding the readers of the mistakes of fallen angels, Sodom and Gomorrah, the false teachers among them will revile flesh and authority, how Michael the arch-angel did not condemn, but rebuked in Jesus name.
Jude 1:11-16 – these men are like Cain, Balaam, wild waves, God will enact judgment, describes how to recognize them.
Jude 1:17-23 – remember the words of the apostles – keep yourselves, that there will be mockers and deceivers, build up your faith, pray in the Holy Spirit, have mercy and save those who can be from the flames
Jude 1:24-25 – closing, recognizing the glory and power of Jesus Christ. God is able to keep you and make you stand.
