Making peace, Onward Christian Soldiers
Jesus’ life was a disaster… from a world perspective. He was born of a virgin, family was on the run for the early years, Kings tried to find and kill him. When His ministry started, the jewish officials ridiculed, threatened, and finally had him tried and executed for claiming to be God. Not the normal success story.
Jesus was the peacemaker, if you will receive Him, He grants peace, and then you offer to others. We (believer’s in Jesus Christ) are called to a mission and the langauge often used is in military terms, armor of God, shield of faith…
Our fight is not an earthly one, or even against humans. Ephesians 6:12-18 describes the war terms of against spriritual foes, and we must use spiritual weapons (3For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete. Christ. 2 cor 10:3-5)
We make peace and that is war in the heavenlies, the peace of Christ produces miracles, first in me, then in others who also receive what I have.
Our weapons are carefully described in Ephesians 6:12-18.
learn these weapons, and practice using them. you will not regret it.
