Who I am

Purpose:  Discuss why knowing in your mind, will, and emotions is vital to your health as a follower of Christ and directs your attitudes, decisions, and actions.

“The more you reaffirm who you are in Christ, the more your behavior will begin to reflect your true identity!”

(From Victory Over the Darkness , by Dr. Neil Anderson)

Identity

Why it matters

  • How you talk to yourself (arguing with God?  About who you are)
  • How you listen (are you paying attention?)

What happens when you don’t know or have so much doubt/fear

  • Failures
    • Fail to act Christlike,  to be like your true image
  • Confession
    • Recurring “boom a rangs” make confessions seem hollow.
  • Redemption
    • Am I redeemed?

Healing through knowing who I am

  • Removal of doubt
  • Correcting defective thinking

Effects on Prayer

  • Me to God
  • God to me
  • Me on behalf of others

You Gotta choose to believe!
